Finished

We just finished Harry Potter #7. Jonah is not even 5 and he has sat through the whole thing, with enthusiasm. With this one we actually had to go and get another copy from the library because we found that Brett was swiping ours to read on the subway each day.
It was fantabulous, and I highly recommend it...It wasn't too much, even for my normally sensitive little people--they adored the story and were so caught up in it.
All of us were left with that familiar feeling that I frequently have when finishing a long, engaging book...a sense of loss that there is no new story that will engage so fully. Until, of course, we find the next one that carries us away.

I know the feeling of finishing that last book! Two really great books to take you mind off of it- Chasing Vermeer and the Wright 3. They are both by the same author, but I can't remember the name right now. The Spiderwick series is great- have you already read that? Eragon and Eldest are really good too. We listened to Eragon with Silas when he was 5 or 6. He loved the Harry Potter series too. There are some scenes that are probably better for older children, but I kind of felt that he probably was imagining it as vividly as he could have handled it at that age. Sara
