I was never ever able to show you Maya's birthday photos...well, here we are, a hotel bed full of balloons, party hats (even on the dog), Mardi Gras necklaces and a festive little spread.
Here are Morgan and Michael (note they even have party hats too) and our candles in the left over french bread. Mostly because we already had dessert at the restaurant.
And here is the excited little birthday girl. She was really surprised and excited by our little party. The kids played with the balloons for weeks, we had to pile them in a corner when our room was cleaned because our housekeeper had a balloon-phobia.

And another picture of the rest of us with party hats. Oh yes, Brett's birthday was a week later, and it was right at his busiest time at work. We surprised him with a gift certificate and appointment for a massage at a nice spa we found close by. Then we he got back we went to Sonic (burgers, cherry limes and great ice cream treats with pull up stalls with food delivery by people on skates, kind of like the old fashioned AW restaurants). He opened his prezzies in the car, and we had a great time listening to some fab new bluegrass (Yonder Mountain String Band) and dancing like crazies while reading up on the NY books that we had gotten him. He then had to go back to work, but we had a lot of fun. :)
