Our news for the day is that Maya lost her first tooth!
Her bottom two front teeth have been loose for weeks, and we were at the library yesterday and she came running up to me with a little tooth in her hand. So here is her first picture without the tooth. Hope it is big enough you can see it. The new tooth is already in. It won't be long until the second bottom tooth falls out too, it is pretty loose. Luckily, we have a playmobil treasure chest with us--it was perfect size for the tooth, and for the two Sacajawea gold $1 coins that the tooth fairy left for her...She woke up and shook the treasure chest and was disappointed because she thought it was two quarters ("it just didn't seem like enough.") But when she turned on the lights and saw the gold coins she was pretty excited. We went to Wal-Mart today and she bought a water bottle and a bucket and shovel to play with in the sand. I know, I know, "Wal-Mart?" you are thinking...Consider it further evidence of the de-greening phenomenon. It is a long, slippery slope, and once you start sliding, well, a full recovery is nearly impossible.
