Mike's Visit

There has been much going on here in this little apartment in Virginia Beach, and I have been a very poor blogger for a few weeks. I haven't really got an excuse, except the same old boring one: we are just very busy with three little ones! So this post is going back a couple weeks to when Brett's stepbrother Mike drove up from North Carolina to visit. Here are Simon and he hanging out on the couch. Doesn't Simon look so grown up with his little head held upright and his collared shirt?
Jonah *loved* Mike because they played catch with a football in the pool for about an hour. Jonah even went totally underwater trying to catch the ball, and didn't flinch. Well, OK, he climbed out to get a towel, but not a word to me--then he just got back in. That is such huge progress for the little anti water guy that we came here with in July. Jonah is a natural at throwing a football--the one in the pool was bigger than the one we play with at home, but he can reliably throw a nice hard spiral with a Nerf ball. I guess it goes along with his general build to date. Who would have thought that the Spositos would have a little football player on their hands?
It took us half the summer to coordinate schedules with Mike--Brett didn't have weekends off and Mike was moving and changing jobs and doesn't work a typical workweek schedule. But finally we got it together and had a very nice visit. We are so glad he got to see the kids, meet little Simon and catch up a little, since we won't likely meet up with him on his next trip to the west coast. We had a great dinner out. This last picture is at The Cheesecake Factory...
