To all of you...

who have called, and we haven't called back, who have sent gifts for Simon and we haven't thanked you yet, who have otherwise wondered why we aren't in touch...
Um, well, I don't have a great excuse, except that our hands are full with #3, and keeping #1 and #2 happily occupied during the day. Phone calls are really hard right now since I frequently am holding a baby and am doing something else with free hands at the same time. Actually I also went way over on my minutes last month for my cell phone and apparently lost my calling card when my wallet was stolen (hadn't noticed that until now). And there is a big pile of thank you cards waiting to be mailed.
We are getting there, really we are.
Know that we are very grateful for your gifts and your checking in on us. Simon is loving all his cute new clothes, and will soon be out of 0-3 month clothes and size newborn diapers.
He did his screaming on the way to the grocery store this afternoon, and then again on the walk to the pool. But the good news is that he has pretty much been asleep or happily chill since then--all 4 of us went swimming this evening then ate a mountain of blueberries, had dinner and watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and nary a peep from the little dude. We had forgotten how hysterically funny Gene Wilder is in the old version--so subtle, ironic and eccentric. It was great fun to watch again.
