Hmmm...
I owe you a post or two. Or three or four, actually. I would love to tell you about the mice in our kitchen, the fun activities the kids and I have been up to, the way our apartment is shaping up. Or maybe I should just stick to the fact that we are finally working on taxes (for 2006). We may cross the wide river that divides computer users and buy an Apple for the first time. Banchi has now graduated to being well-adjusted enough for doggie playtime off-leash in the mornings in Central Park. True he sometimes still acts the grouchy old man, but sometimes, like today, I don't blame him. He was getting humped by a nerdy looking Bassett Hound Mix with dramatically turned out feet, a dorky collar and I swear, a really uncool smile on his face.
We finally visited Little Italy--at the Festival of San Gennaro. We are sad that Little Italy is so, well, little. The weather is shifting delighfully toward Fall. The days are sunny and clear (except for the day or two that we got completely drenched in the rain--was that even in the forecast?) but they are cooling off at night, reminding us that the season is changing. I have that yummy Back-To-School feeling that I have always loved. And I am about to consecrate that feeling with a big shopping trip. For clothes. By myself. With no kids along. Armed with a collection of gift certificates I have been saving for almost a year. Is there anything better? I can picture myself now--A People magazine in my lap on the subway, a latte in my hand when the shopping gets too rough and I need a break...
There is so much to tell. I have pictures too. But alas, it is after 1 am and instead I am off to bed.
I realize that bloggers who go this long without blogging start losing their faithful readers. But I will make it up to you, I promise. It may, ummm have to wait until after the taxes are done though.

Ah, the taxes. Good luck with that.
It sounds like you're really settling in and becoming New Yorkers. Wow. Sounds exciting and makes me want to move to New York!
Have fun on your shopping trip. Sounds absolutely delicious.
